How to use the builder
- Enter the facility's name, address and license type — they head every page of the plan.
- Answer what the builder asks with what the facility actually has — it asks only what applies. A detail the plan needs that you have not entered prints as a blank to complete; the builder does not invent agreements, contacts, resources or quantities.
- Read the state sheet: it lists only the rules CompliMaint has verified for your facility type, each with its citation and the date it was checked, and the obligations a written plan does not cover.
- Print the plan or save it as a PDF, review it with staff, and keep it with the facility's records.

Questions people ask
- Is the emergency preparedness plan builder free?
- Yes — free with no signup and no locked pages. There's a 'Powered by CompliMaint' line at the foot of the plan, with a link to keep it current in CompliMaint — that's the only branding.
- Does it save my progress?
- Yes, automatically, so you can close the page and resume later. With no account your answers stay in this browser and are not sent to our servers. If you are signed in to a CompliMaint workspace that saves to the cloud, the plan is saved to that workspace so it opens on any device you sign in on. The optional address lookup queries OpenStreetMap with the address text you type. On a shared computer without an account, use 'Clear saved data' when you're done.
- What does the builder leave blank?
- A detail the plan needs that the facility has not entered — a receiving site, how long transport takes to arrive, the hours of generator fuel on hand — prints as a blank for the facility to complete. Sections that do not apply to the facility are left out rather than left blank. The builder does not invent agreements, contacts, resources or quantities, so the plan describes what the facility actually has.
- Does this make my facility compliant?
- No. It builds the plan document and cites the state requirements we have verified for your facility type and location — but writing a plan is only one of the things a license asks for. Filings, postings, drills, training, records and physical requirements are separate obligations that generating a document does not discharge, and CompliMaint makes no compliance determination. You are responsible for confirming your plan meets your state's licensing rules and, for Medicare- or Medicaid-certified providers, the federal CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule.
