A vague purpose is the one that gets disputed
“Inspection” tells a resident nothing and is exactly the entry somebody objects to afterwards. “Repair the kitchen faucet reported on 3 March, with a plumbing contractor” is a different letter: it says what will happen, who will be in the home, and why. The purpose box is required for that reason, and it takes as much detail as you want to give.
No statutory period is filled in
Most states set a minimum notice before entry and limit the hours and the permitted purposes; some treat an emergency completely differently. CompliMaint has not checked any of it for your property, states no period, and leaves the box empty. What you type prints on the notice, attributed to you.

- How much notice must I give before entering?
- That is set by the lease and by the law where the property is, and CompliMaint does not state it. The period box opens empty and prints what you type. Confirm what applies before you rely on this notice.
- What about an emergency?
- Emergency entry is treated differently in most places, and this tool takes no view on what counts as one. If you are entering without notice, this is not the document for it — record what happened afterwards instead.
- Does the resident have to agree?
- Nothing here decides that. The notice records what you told them, when, and what you intend to do. Whether entry is permitted, and on what terms, comes from the lease and from local law.
- Can I give a time window rather than an exact time?
- Yes, and that is what the two time boxes are for. A window is usually more honest than a single time you will not hit — and the reschedule section is there for when it does not suit.
