Insurance claim log

Log

Claims you reported, who is handling each one, and what the insurer last told you.

There is no amount column, and that is the point

A reserve is an insurer’s moving estimate of what a claim will cost. A figure sitting in a free register would be read as your own number in a dispute about exactly that number, so there is no field for it, no field for a settlement, and no valuation of any kind. The log knows what a claim is called and where it has got to, which is what you actually need to chase it.

It makes no coverage determination and states no deadline

Whether something is covered, whether it should be reported, and when notice must be given are questions for your policy and your broker. This register takes no view on any of them, counts no notification period, and has no opinion about whether a claim was worth making.

An index of claims you reported. It holds no reserve, settlement or valuation, makes no coverage determination, states no reporting deadline, records no medical detail, and gives no insurance advice. Everything runs on your device.

Questions people ask

Can I record the reserve?
No. There is no amount field on this register at all, deliberately — no reserve, no settlement, no valuation. Financial detail on a claim belongs in the systems that carry it.
Does it tell me whether I am covered?
No. It makes no coverage determination of any kind and gives no advice about whether or when to notify an insurer. That is a question for your policy and your broker.
Can I record what happened to the person involved?
No. There is no field for anybody’s injuries, medical detail, treatment or condition, and there must not be. Keep the claim label administrative.
Is there a reporting deadline?
None that this product states. The date on a row is one you set to chase the insurer, and nothing counts a notification period.
