The list is hidden while somebody is signing in
This is the one register in the product that hides its own rows by default. A paper visitor book on a reception desk shows every previous visitor’s name and business to whoever signs in next, and a screen is worse than paper because it shows the whole book at once. So the sign-in form is what a visitor sees, the list has to be asked for by a member of staff, and it re-hides every time the page loads or the site changes.
What it deliberately cannot record
There is no field for an identity document, a date of birth, a photograph, a biometric, a signature, a vehicle registration or a location, and there will not be. Reception desks accumulate exactly that sort of data because a form had a box for it, and the reliable way not to hold something is not to have anywhere to put it.

Questions people ask
- Can a visitor see who came before them?
- No. The list is hidden by default, has to be revealed by a member of staff, and hides itself again on every page load and whenever the site is changed. That is the reason this tool exists in the form it does.
- Can I scan an ID or take a photo?
- No. There are no uploads, no camera use and no biometrics anywhere in this product, and this log has no field for an identity document or a date of birth.
- Is there a signature box?
- No. There is no signature capture in this product on any tool. A line drawn on a screen authenticates nothing.
- Does this satisfy an access-control or security requirement?
- CompliMaint makes no such claim. It is a sign-in book. Whether your site needs controlled access, screening or anything else is a question for whoever is responsible for it.
