Out is not the same as overdue

The due-back date is one you set, and it can be left blank when nothing is owed back on a date. CompliMaint states no loan period, marks nothing overdue on its own authority and enforces nothing. What the register is good at is answering the only question that matters when something is missing: who had it last, and when.

No credential ever goes in here

Asset labels, yes. Passwords, passcodes, PINs, license keys, API keys, device-management tokens and recovery codes, never — there is no field for a credential on this register and it must not become the place they are kept. A shared laptop’s login belongs in whatever your organization uses for secrets, which is not a browser-local sign-out sheet.

Does it chase overdue items?
No. It shows you what is out and what you said was due back. Nothing is sent, nothing is escalated and no loan period is stated by CompliMaint.
Can I record the laptop password?
No. There is no credential field here, deliberately, and passwords, PINs, license keys, API keys and recovery codes must not go in the notes either.
Who is responsible if something is damaged?
Not a question this register answers. It records a condition note somebody wrote and makes no determination about responsibility for anything damaged or missing.
Is this the same as the IT asset register?
No. This is custody — what went out today and came back Friday. The IT asset register is the standing list of what the organization owns and who it is assigned to.
