Retainage tracker
ReportWhat is being held across your contracts — work and stored materials kept apart.
It stores nothing
Every row is read from a contract you already built. There is no second copy of a retainage figure to disagree with the payment application, because there is no copy at all.
Two rates, held apart
Retainage on completed work and on stored materials are different numbers, often at different percentages. They are shown separately on every row for the reason the payment application does it: collapsing them under-bills the job.
No law, no deadline, no interest
No statutory percentage, no release timing and no interest calculation. Those turn on your contract and on the law where the work is.
Alongside this: Schedule of values · Payment application · AR aging
A report derived from contracts on your device. It stores nothing and transmits nothing. CompliMaint states no statutory retainage percentage, reads no retainage or prompt-payment law, counts no release deadline, calculates no interest and gives no legal or contractual advice. Everything runs on your device.
Questions people ask
- Where do the figures come from?
- From the contracts already on this device — the retainage percentages and the values you entered on each one. Nothing is stored by this report; it reads and adds up.
- Does it know my state’s retainage law?
- No. It states no statutory percentage, reads no prompt-payment or retainage statute, and counts no release deadline. Retainage limits and release timing differ by state, by public or private work and by contract, and an invented figure would be wrong somewhere important.
- Does it calculate interest on money held back?
- No. Some states provide for it in some circumstances; that is a legal question about your contract and your jurisdiction, not arithmetic this page should perform.
- Why are work and stored materials separate?
- Because the rates are often different and stored materials sometimes carry none at all. Collapsing them into one rate is the most common error on these forms and it always costs the contractor.
- Does it track when retainage was released?
- Not on this page — a release is a payment, and payments belong on the application that made them. This answers the question “how much is being held right now, and on which jobs”.
