Does this issue a permit?
No. CompliMaint issues nothing, authorizes nothing and permits no work. This is an index and nothing else: it allocates and generates no permit number, produces no permit document and prints nothing a person could mistake for one. Every number and date in it is copied off paper issued under your own permit system.
Where is the hazard assessment?
There is none, deliberately. A permit to work carries a hazard assessment, an isolation procedure and an authorization by a named competent person, and all three belong to the permit system that issues the permit. A free website supplying any of them would be the most dangerous thing on this site.
Why is there no 'issued' or 'authorized' status?
Because those are words this tool must never appear to speak. The lifecycle here is the administrative one — open, pending outside, on hold, closed — and closing a row means you are finished with the row. There is no active-permit status here, and nothing on the row is a determination by anybody.
What is it actually for, then?
Finding the permit. On a busy site the question at 7am is which permits are live, who holds the paper and when they expire, and answering it should not mean walking to the cabin.
