The card is a nickname

“Shop truck fuel card”. “Office purchasing card”. That is how a card is referred to in conversation and it is all this log needs to keep transactions apart. There is no mask, no format and no validation on the field, because anything that shaped the input would be teaching somebody that a number belongs in it.

Written down as it happens

The value of a card log is that it exists before the statement arrives. A receipt in a pocket becomes a line with a date, a vendor, an amount and a person, and the month-end job becomes checking rather than reconstructing.

It reconciles against nothing and sends nothing

No bank connection, no issuer feed, no import and no upload. Everything on the page was typed here; by default it stays on this device, and it syncs to your workspace only if you sign in.

Questions people ask

Where do I enter the card number?
Nowhere, and there is no field for one. Not the full number, not the last four digits, not the expiry and not the security code. A card is identified by a name you chose — “office purchasing card” — which is how people refer to them out loud anyway.
Why not just the last four?
Because it is still part of a payment card number sitting in a browser with no account behind it, and it is enough to identify a card in combination with other things on the same page. The product holds none of it.
Does it reconcile against the statement?
Not automatically — it connects to no bank or card issuer. It gives you the list to check the statement against, which is the part that usually does not exist.
Is the category a tax category?
No. It is your own label for your own sorting. This tool computes no tax and has no chart of accounts.
Can several people log to the same card?
Yes. Each transaction records who spent it, and the card nickname is a plain text field, so a shop card used by four people is four rows with one card name on them.
