Exit interview

Person record

What you asked and what they said, in their words — with no reason dropdown anywhere.

Their words, not a category

An exit interview reduced to a dropdown tells you nothing you did not already suspect. This sheet holds the question and the answer, so the third one you read can be compared with the first two.

No classification of any kind

No reason list, no category, no theme tagging, no sentiment. Nothing here classifies why anybody left, because the classification is where the risk is and the words are where the value is.

Around it

Something raised that needs handling is the grievance log. Cover for the role is the succession matrix, and the position itself is the staffing plan.

A record of a conversation with somebody who is leaving. It offers no reason list, classifies nothing, and reaches no conclusion. Everything runs on your device.

Questions people ask

Why is there no reason-for-leaving list?
Because half the entries on any honest one — health, family, a manager, pay, a grievance — are things this product must not collect against a named person, and the other half are too coarse to be worth anything. What somebody actually says is more useful and safer to hold.
What should I ask?
Whatever you will act on. The value of exit interviews is in the third one you read, not the first — so ask questions whose answers you could compare, and write the answers down in their words rather than your summary of them.
Is this confidential?
Everything you type stays in this browser on this device. Without an account it is not uploaded and nobody else can read it from here. In a CompliMaint workspace it is a workspace record, which means the colleagues that workspace has can — the screen says so while you are typing. Whether you treat what was said as confidential inside your organization is your decision and worth being clear about before the conversation.
Should I record a complaint made during the interview?
If somebody raises a grievance, log it where grievances go rather than burying it in an exit record — and be careful what you write. This sheet is not built to hold statements, findings or anything about health or protected matters.
