Disciplinary record

Internal record

What happened, what was expected, what they said, and what you have decided happens next.

An internal record, not a legal instrument

Almost every disciplinary template supplies something: a warning number, a notice period, a ground, a consequence. Each is a legal position taken by software that has read neither your contract nor your jurisdiction. This one supplies none of them and records the conversation instead.

What it structures

What happened, with dates. What the expectation is and how it was explained. What the person said. What you have decided happens next, in your own words, and what support goes with it.

Around it

Where the agreement is a plan with objectives, that is the improvement plan. Regular conversations are the one-to-one log, and something somebody raised is the grievance log.

An internal record of a conversation, in your words. It is not a statutory notice: it supplies no notice period, no warning sequence, no grounds for dismissal and no legal conclusion, and CompliMaint has read neither your contract nor your jurisdiction. Everything runs on your device.

Questions people ask

Is this a first, second or final warning?
This product does not say, and there is nowhere for it to. There is no progressive-discipline ladder here, no warning sequence and no numbering — what sequence applies, if any, comes from your own policy and your contract, and a ladder printed by a website is read later as though somebody with authority had set it.
Does it give a notice period?
No. It supplies no notice period at all, and there is no box to leave blank. How much notice anybody is owed is set by the contract and by the law where they work, neither of which CompliMaint has read.
Can I use it to dismiss somebody?
No. It states no grounds for dismissal, gives no termination advice and reaches no conclusion about anybody's employment. Whether a dismissal is fair or lawful is a question for your own advice.
Why record what the person said?
Because a record with only one side in it is not a record, and it is the half that matters most if anybody ever reads this back. Write their response in their words, as close as you can get them.
