- Does it track leave balances?
- No. It holds no balance, works out no accrual and decides no entitlement or eligibility. What anybody is owed comes from your policy and from the law where they work.
- Why is there no leave type?
- Because a list containing sick, medical, parental or bereavement is health and family data about named people. The calendar answers who is away and who is covering, which is the operational question.
- What is the coverage column for?
- It is the half of the sheet worth reading. A calendar that says who is away and not who is picking the work up is a list of problems rather than a plan.
- How does it differ from the time off request log?
- The request log is the individual asking and you deciding. This is the resulting picture across a period, so you can see the week the shutdown coincides with three people being off.
