How often should a septic tank be pumped?
CompliMaint does not say, and holds no interval. It depends on the tank size, the number of people using it, what goes into it and the rules of your local health authority. Ask them or your septic contractor, then use this to record what was actually done.
Does it tell me if my drainfield has failed?
No. It records what you observed — wet spots, odor, growth, settlement — and stops there. Whether a field is failing is a determination for somebody who can inspect and dig, not for a form.
Where do the sludge measurements go?
Into the record for that visit, as your own measurement. CompliMaint publishes no depth at which a tank should be pumped and compares your figure against nothing.
Can I record the hauler's ticket?
Yes — there is a checklist item for receiving the ticket or manifest, and the notes carry the detail. Keep the ticket itself where you keep your documents.
Does anything leave the device?
