Written on the day

A delay record made on the day is evidence. The same record reconstructed nine months later, from memory and a photograph, is an argument — and everybody in the room knows the difference. This is a two-minute row: what stopped, who was standing, when it started, when it ended, what you did.

It determines nothing

No stage in this register means approved, granted or entitled, and there never will be one. Excusability, compensability, extensions of time and notice are decided under your contract by whoever administers it. This is a contemporaneous record and nothing more.

Questions people ask

Does this establish that I am entitled to more time?
No, and no part of it comes close. It does not decide whether a delay is excusable or compensable, extends no date, computes no critical path or time impact, and is not a notice to anybody. Entitlement and notice come from your contract, and this tool has not read it.
Is filing this a notice under my contract?
It is not. Nothing is sent anywhere. Most contracts have notice provisions with short deadlines and specific recipients; meeting them is something you do under your contract, and a record on your own device is not it. Note in the row that you gave notice, and how.
Why is there no calculation of days?
Because a number a website worked out would be read later as though it meant something. The days-affected field is your own count, typed by you, and the tool attaches no meaning to it and adds nothing up from it.
What is the difference between this and the weather delay log?
Weather is a specific and very common cause with its own facts — conditions, temperature, wind, what was standing — so it has its own dated sheet. This log is for everything else: access, information, a late delivery, another party's work. Both are records, and neither claims anything.
