Price book
WorksheetYour tasks, your times, your costs and your prices — in one list you keep.
Every figure on it is yours
This product ships no flat-rate manual, no book times and no benchmark prices, and this sheet opens with every cell empty. That is not a gap to be filled in later. A price somebody else published is a number set for a different market, a different overhead and a different crew, and a tool that put one in front of you would be giving advice about your business that it has no standing to give.
Two columns, added up
Put what a task costs you in one column and what you charge for it in the other. The sheet totals both and shows the difference. It stops there: no line is flagged as too cheap, no increase is suggested, no markup is applied and no tax is added. Whether a margin is right depends on how much of that work you do and what you are willing to turn down, and neither of those is on this device.
A list you keep, not a quote you send
A price book is the table you price from. When you are quoting one job for one customer, that is the estimate tool: it produces a document with a customer, a total and an acceptance behind it. This sheet is what you consult while writing one, and it prints for the truck.

Questions people ask
- Does it come with prices already in it?
- No, and deliberately not. There is no flat-rate manual in this product, no published book time, no benchmark and no regional multiplier. Every task, time, cost and price on the sheet is one you typed. A supplied price would be advice about your business from something that knows nothing about it — your market, your overhead, your crew and your competition are not on this device.
- How long should a job take?
- This page will not tell you, because it cannot know. Book times vary by access, age of equipment, who is doing the work and what they find when they open it up. The hours column is there for your own figure, from your own jobs.
- What does it actually work out?
- It adds your price column and your cost column and shows the difference between the two totals. That is all. It does not name a line underpriced, does not suggest an increase, does not apply a markup and applies no tax of any kind.
- Should I raise my prices?
- That is a decision about your business and this product does not make it. What the sheet gives you is the two totals side by side; what they mean for you depends on volume, overhead and what you are willing to turn down. Talk to your accountant.
- Is this a quote or an estimate?
- No. It is a price list you maintain. When you are pricing one particular job for one particular customer, use the estimate tool — that is what produces a document with a customer, a number and an acceptance.
