It transmits nothing

There is no portal integration, no submission API and no connection to any registry, agency or court anywhere in this product. Every state on this log is you recording something you did in the real world. A log that looked like it was filing would eventually be trusted to file, and something important would not get sent.

Accepted is a receipt, not a verdict

Somebody at the other end recorded that they had it. Whether the thing you sent was right, complete or in time is a separate question this product cannot answer and does not claim to. Returned is colored as still yours, because that is what a returned filing is.

Where it sits

The file is in the matter tracker, the dates you were given in the date list, material being produced in the document request tracker, and documents in review in the contract review tracker.

Does it file or submit anything?
No. This product has no integration with any registry, agency, court or portal, and it transmits nothing anywhere. You file the way you always did — by mail, by hand, through their portal — and this is where you write down that you did it, when, and what came back.
What does Accepted mean here?
That whoever received it recorded having received it. That is all it means. It is a receipt, not a verdict: it makes no claim that the submission was correct, sufficient, timely or that any underlying requirement has been met. Those are judgments made by the office you sent it to, and sometimes much later.
Does it know what I have to file, or when?
No. It knows no filing requirement, no deadline and no jurisdiction. Dates on this log are dates you were given, typed by you. If you need to know what is due and when, that comes from your advisors and from the office concerned.
Why record their reference?
Because the receipt number is the only thing that lets anybody find the submission again at the other end, and it is invariably the thing nobody wrote down. Theirs, once you have it — this tool generates no reference of its own.
