Cost code breakdown

Dated sheet

Committed and actual against each of your codes, with both columns summed.

Your codes, your figures, two totals

Code, what it covers, committed, actual. The totals under each column are sums of what you typed and nothing else.

It is not accounting and does not pretend to be

Nothing here reaches into a ledger, an order or an invoice, and nothing derives a forecast. That work belongs in an accounting system and with the people who run it.

Around it

What was committed on paper is the purchase order. Billing the client is progress billing.

Your own cost codes with figures you typed and two column totals. It applies no accounting treatment, calculates no earned value, forecast or variance and reads no ledger. Everything runs on your device.

Questions people ask

Is this accounting software?
No. It applies no accounting treatment, recognizes no revenue, posts to no ledger and reads no invoice or order. Two columns of figures somebody typed are added up; that is the whole of the arithmetic.
Does it work out earned value or percentage complete?
No. There is no earned value, no percentage complete, no forecast, no variance and no cost to complete. Every one of those is a judgment about a job, and the figures behind it differ between contractors.
Where do the figures come from?
From you. There is a header field asking where you got them, because a breakdown without that line is a number nobody can check three months later.
Are the codes supplied?
No. They are yours. This product publishes no cost code structure, because everybody's differs and adopting somebody else's mid-job is worse than having none.
