Georgia survey readiness
What Georgia Department of Community Health — Healthcare Facility Regulation can ask you for, each line cited — and the ones you can't yet produce.
29 of the outstanding items are the ones a survey opens with.
What Georgia requires
- Required contents of the fire evacuation plan. Emergency egress or escape routes, and whether evacuation is to be complete or — where approved — by selected floors or areas only; procedures for employees who remain to operate critical equipment before evacuating; procedures for ASSISTED RESCUE of people unable to use the general means of egress unassisted; accounting for employees and occupants after evacuation; identification and assignment of personnel responsible for rescue or emergency medical aid; and the preferred and alternative means both of notifying occupants and of reporting to the fire department. Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. 111-8-63
- 24-hour notification after a plan activation causing injury or death. When an emergency dictates implementation of the plan and results in injury or loss of life, the Department must be notified within 24 hours. This is a reportable-event clock that starts during the response, and the plan should name who owns it. Rules of Georgia DCH Ch. 111-8 (disaster preparedness plans, 111-8-16)
- Extinguisher placement is specified. At least one charged 5 lb multipurpose ABC fire extinguisher on each occupied floor and in the basement. Georgia specifies the size and the placement, not just the presence. Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. 111-8-62
The evidence, and where it comes from
Every item above needs something you can hand over. The Georgia fire drill log produces the drill record at the frequency this state sets, the emergency plan builder writes the plan itself from the same research, and the compliance calendar puts the life-safety tests on dates. Anything you record against the building shows up on the checklist already ticked.
