The rounds are the record
A submittal that went out, came back for revision, went out again and was approved has a history worth keeping — and the stage list is built for it. Not sent, submitted, revise and resubmit, approved, closed. Nothing here collapses a return into a rejection, because returns are how the process is supposed to work.
What it does not do
It does not review anything, approve anything, or decide whether a submittal conforms to a specification. It states no review period. It generates no submittal number: the contract or your own convention does that, and a number this site invented would be one nobody else on the job could find.

Questions people ask
- What counts as a submittal?
- Whatever your contract says has to be reviewed before it is built or installed — typically shop drawings, product data, samples, mock-ups and closeout documents. This tool does not decide what is submittable: it keeps the register of what you sent and what came back, with the specification section beside it if you record one.
- Why is 'revise and resubmit' not shown as a failure?
- Because it usually is not one. Most submittals come back at least once, and a log that colored an ordinary return as a rejection would make a healthy job read as a troubled one. Returned means it is back with you and still yours; the register keeps the history of every round.
- Does it track review time against the contract?
- It shows you what is past the return date YOU entered. It states no review period of its own, because how long a reviewer has is in your contract and this product has not read it. The dated record is what any conversation about review time would be built from.
- Can two jobs share a submittal log?
- No. Every row is attached to one job by its stable id, so two jobs never see each other's submittals, and renaming a job or its customer moves nothing. That is the same rule every register in this product follows.
