Record a payment, credit or write-off
Close out what a customer paid — or what they will not.
How toReviewed September 27, 2026
- “Record a payment” on the invoice, or from Get paid. A partial payment leaves it Partially paid.
- “Credit some of it” issues a credit.
- “Apply a held deposit” uses money you are holding for that customer.
- “Write it off” when it will not be paid; “Void this invoice” when it should never have existed.
- “Reverse this payment” corrects a payment recorded by mistake.
Money owed shows everything outstanding and what is overdue; the Aging report groups it by how late it is.
